Default Late Notice: Grand Prix of Houston Apr 20-22

Hey Miata crowd, I am organizing the trip this year for the DFW S2ki group to go watch the Grand Prix of Houston this year and I wanted to see if any of you guys would like to join us even though it is late notice. We should be able to get group tickets for 100/person. It's April 20-22 (fri-sunday) with tickets to watch racing, get into the paddock and pits each day. Also working on group hotel rates and details to caravan down there with a few group meals etc.

Shoot me a PM or email at [email protected] if any of you are interested. I must have ticket money sent in by next Friday March 20 and will post more details to come.

Here is the link on S2ki

Damn, I wish I could go.
I also wish we still had the ALMS race here... but that's another topic.

Hopefully next year I'll be able to make it.

It would be nice to not have to drive down to Houston but it's still a fun race.

The lineup this year should be:

    -ALMS (DB9R, C6R, M3GTR etc in GT1/2 and R10/Porsche RS Spyder etc in P1/P2
    -Champ Car/Champ Atlantic
-Star Mazda (Open wheel powered by Renesis)
    -MX5 cup (self explanatory)

Cool, you guys can feel free to join our group. I'm going to put together a few group dinners etc. I believe we're going to pay 100 for the group price which is I think 30 cheaper. Also i'm calling this weekend for a group rate at a hotel if you guys haven't booked, let me know.

    Thanks,

La Quinta about 2 blocks from the track. We walked and never paid for parking or fought traffic last year.

Post up the schedule when you have it please.

Final bump, S2ki is down so if anyone is going and sees this just PM me your contact info if you want to share it with the group so we can get a hold of each other to meet down there or you can email me at [email protected]. I should be there Friday around lunch, and will give everyone a call to see if we want to meet for lunch.

Onething, I can't check my PM's on s2ki so can you please resend your phone #, thanks!

Hell yeah! Man that was a long time ago. The US Grand Prix was cool a couple times but getting full pit access for the weekend for around $100 is a better experience IMO. Team Corvette even let me walk into their garage while working on the other car and peak inside! Guy said,"Sure, just don't push any buttons."

Just got back tonight, it was a great time. Very nice to hang out with Hal and Mark for a while. Here are a few pics from the event, the MX5 cup race was NUTS (few people nailed the tire wall and one guy did a 360, didn't hit anything and kept going)
