Thread: MME Family Picnic

  1. #1

    Default MME Family Picnic

Trina and I were thinking there are quite a few folks with spouses and kids on the forum. It would be great to include them some how. Unfortunately, when you're in a club of two-seat sports cars, people get left out.

    Here is our idea.

Find a centrally located park or other location. Free would be ideal. (No D&B, Six Flags, etc.)

Have a non-driving get together where we can bring the whole family and just hang out and socialize.

We could grill out, toss frisbees, play a little ball and include everybody. Maybe we could have some events for the kids too.

This would be open to our single members as well. I'd hope we could get the majority of the MME folks to attend and bring along those people most important to them.

Naturally a weekend would be best for most folks. Sorry for you weekend workers but maybe you can get the day off in advance.

Let's do this before it gets too hot. Please vote what day looks best for you.

Sounds like a great plan but I have no free weekends in June.

June 23 is the MSR event and SCCA divisionals, so I think that date would not work for many.

The 16th is the only Saturday in June without an AX or TT race.

As for location, Rogue has offered Propwash.

Propwash is in Justin,TX near TMS which is a good location for most folks. Rogue lives on a grass airfield so there will be airplanes for the kids to see, he has a large hanger so plenty of shade and plenty of parking outside.

I've been to Propwash a few times and we always have a great time.

He has also suggested chipping in for a Keg and he has a grill so we can grill out. BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat) Get your mind out of the gutter.

I guess we need to see what weekend is available for him and hope it works out for everyone else. It'll be hot but it will be fun too!

Propwash would be a great place for a party. I'd be interested, but my June looks pretty hectic.

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I selected June before it gets too hot but if a later date works better for everyone, that'll work for me.

Sounds fun. I'll ty my best to make it on any of the days excpet the 9th. I'm closing on my home on the 8th.
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

Did this ever happen? Is there any interest in doing something like this in 2008?
