    Default New Miata Owner

    Hello all,

I just purchased a white 97 Miata (first Mazda) for a commute/play vehicle/toy (yes, my wife's eyes rolled back into her head when she heard what vehicle I was after). My 2003 Chevrolet Silveraldo SS just does not cut it in the fuel mileage catagory , but is a blast to drive. I have a garage of motorcycles, but a track accident and 13 months off work has me looking for fun elsewhere. Humm, Autocross or Spec Miata?

Anyway, I have been a GM tech at a dealership for just about 30 years, was also working on Mazda's from 1989 to 1996 (when the first Miata's came out).

Hope to find some valuable infomation here on how to set this ride up!

    Thanks,
    Mike, Mr Goodwrench

    Hello and welcome!

    AutoX vs. Spec Miata?

How much money do you want to spend? AutoX is inexpensive, SM is anything but.

Bet you could teach us M1 owners a thing or two. See the Hallett thread in the Open track forum here. Come join us. Lots of seat time! Congrats on your new ride! Beware, they're as addictive as motorcycles.

Welcome aboard. There was a nice article in last months mag. from SCCA about setting up a miata to run in STS2. I tossed mine but someone may still have the article.

Welcome! I predict within a month you'll look back at this statement and laugh.
