Just like the title says. I am looking to purchase a Catalytic Converter for for a 1999 or 2000 Miata Exhaust system.

Just an FYI the stock cat con is one piece with the whole midpipe. I bought an aftermarket cat con for my racing beat midpipe and had it welded for right around 100 or so.

Did you have any issues with the after market part? Did it throw a CEL?

I think the aftermarket cat I got was a little small. It throws a CEL so I have an O2 simulator. However if you get a bigger cat I dont think that would be an issue.

Cool... What I'm want to do, since my car is already not street legal. Is to take the Mid-pipe assembally off my Turbo car and swap it for the Racing Beat mid pipe on the other miata, so it will be street legal again and not throw a CEL. But I know my cat is shot, so hopefully I can just throw on a cat for $70 + the cost of a weld and be done with it.

Can anyone think of why that wouldn't work?

The muffler shop might not want to do it is the only problem I could foresee. Other than that if the cat is designed to clean the air as well as the OEM it should be just fine. The inspection is only at the OBD2 port, so if the computer is good the car is.
