    Default Compression/leakdown testing

Does anyone have a recommended place to have these tests done? I'm considering a power adder and would like to see how healthy the '90's engine is before spending any more time thinking about the possibility.

I don't own the tools for it, but it is really easy to test. Your options are:

Go to Harbor Freight and buy cheap compression/leakdown kit.

Get in touch with Gary at Trackdog Racing. If memory serves me, he has these tools.

Go to any local performance shop. There will be a fee involved.

Give me the fee that you would otherwise give the local shop. I will use it to help pay for the tools (I would like to own them) and I'll test your car for you.

I think the Haynes manual has compression/leakdown specs in it, and as for the equipment and/or someone to do it, I think our pal Curtis has the stuff...

I'm going to Harbor Freight this afternoon to check out the parking lot sale. If they are on sale, I might pick them up.

if you want to pay someone to do it, the PM me for a guy's name

he does a lot of mechanic work on Miatas at his house for extra money

he did my car, then after it proved healthy, I had him do the timing belt stuff

don't know what he would charge just for compression and leak down because he did a bunch of stuff for me

    he's in Justin off 407

[sarcasm]Hey, I bet Rogue would do it very reasonably. [/sarcasm]

But in all honesty, Steven Boyd has a real good reputation.

Curtis is totally burned out on cars right now that he's putting off his MGB GT project for a few months. That rather caught me by surprise!

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Bo, I'll likely be in touch in a couple of weeks. You're considerably closer than *gulp* Justin.
