I might buy a Miata out of Ohio. I will need to have it shipped to Allen. Any recommendations? Driving a Miata in 5 degree is not fun.
    Thanks

I used DAS, they suck as far as customer service but they're cheap and they get the job done. Just make sure they don't try and sell you extras like top load, extra insurance etc and pick it up at the Garland depot instead of having them deliver it to your door. They tried to insist that I top load it b/c it's a convertible and they don't want oil to be dripped on it but I declined and said I was replacing the top anyway and of course nothing happened even though it wasn't top loaded. I shipped my LE from CA to TX in a week for around 400 open carrier and picked up at the depot.

If you want enclosed it will probably cost 1000-1500 which I suspect isn't worth it but FedEx Passport, Horseless Carriage and a few others are pretty good.

+1 on DAS - I've used them to ship cars (and bikes) I've sold on eBay, and received no complaints. I've also never had them try to upsell me, btw. They're slow but consistent, and they take care of the cars. Terminal-to-terminal is the way to go if your seller is agreeable to that. Their local terminal is on Hwy 80 closer to Mesquite.

    +3 on DAS

I have shipped to cars using them to folks out of state.

All have arrived on time and without a hitch.

Also their rates are normally so low it wont save you much if anything if you factor in a plane ticket, hotel and gas costs.

Did it have a hitch installed before it left? Did they reimburse you for taking it off?

Good point. They put salt on the streets during winter in Ohio to melt snow and ice. Be careful of rust.

Chances are he'll be lightening it anyway. If more metal has fallen off than is allowed, he can put ballast where he wants it.

Heck, I just finished a trip to DFW pulling an empty open trailer. Where is it located in Ohio. I will be coming back to DFW in a few weeks to work...
