I struck a deal with Gary for one of the power antennas, but I'm in Arlington and the antenna is not.

Looking for a little assist here. Anybody going to see Gary soon and then be in my part of the world?

For those of you needing power antennas, the typical problem is the mast cable snaps. This is easily replaceable from the dealer for about $20.

The other problem is driving out of the garage when the antenna is higher than the still-opening garage door

A replacement mast is available from Mazda. As long as the motor still works, the mast is designed to be the weak point and replaceable. I'd be willing to bet a replacement mast would solve your problem. This is why even "broken" power antennas still can sell reasonable well.
