    Smile 255-40x13 HOOSIER!

Hoosier has announced this new tire size to be available in April. Man, I'm sooo glad I didn't cut my fenders up! I'm praying that they will fit on 9" wide wheels. The specs/prices have not been released yet.

    AWESOME!!!

Do you need a co-driver for next year? This B-stock tire budget is killing me.

Not to mention the B-stock fuel budget.

I'm sure Hoosier will be selling these at a premium price. My guess is $225 to $250 range. Hope I'm wrong, but with the 225/45/13 selling at $181 these days, it won't suprise me.

Me thinks that, even if they don't fit, the competition will be very good this year - if they DO fit, it'll be GREAT!!!

I had to choose one regional series to compete in, so I chose the SCCA. With all the other races I'll be attending this year - SCCA SW Divisionals (3 for sure, maybe 4), National Tours (1, maybe 2), ProSolo (1), plus a Test 'n Tune/Practice day, the EPDS, and possibly the Solo2 National Championships - I'll be in nearly 20 events this year as it is, and I didn't want my wife to forget what I look like...

Well, I see that they are only going to cost $200 each. What a bargain!

Well, as it turns out, the new size Hoosiers won't be available until sometime in June I just put in an order for some C71 'Kooks to run in the meantime. Are you happy, now, Miatamoto?

LOL, glad to see you got smart!

I'd run about 3-5 PSI higher than you did with the V710s.

I got the C71 225 45 13 Hankooks mounted this week. For some reason they are not quite as wide as the same size Hoosiers. Maybe that's why they cost less Can't wait to try them out. Is the C71 compound supposed to be better than the C70?

Yeah, the Ho Hos in the same size as the Kumhos and Kooks always seem to be a little wider. I think my 225/50/14 Hoosiers were over a half inch wider than the Kumhos (same size) Hederrick was running at Divisionals a couple of years ago.

From what I've been told by many sources, the C71 has the same construction as the C70 but with a compound tweek. Nothing drastic.

BTW, be careful running them on rough asphalt (ie. Mineral Wells) because they don't seem to hold up very well in those conditions. I heard another RX-8 guy had the same problem. I had a ton of outer shoulder wear from about 16 runs on that surface. The 50 runs before that at Pennington, LaGrave and the Bus Lot left them looking great.

Make sure you over inflate them if you're going to go out to MW, that will hopefully spare the shoulder (or at least help a little).
