Thread: Replacing daytime running lights?

    Default Replacing daytime running lights?

What are the lights officially called that are down below the headlights just over the airdam?

They aren't shown in the manual I got with my car...and one of them is out and I need to change it out. The headlight was easy enough, and I made sure I didn't touch the light bulb.

Sorry for being so ignorant. The manual I have is for a 1999 but I am wondering if it is for the AE.

More google hits for fog lights, so I guess they are fog lights! Looks like to replace you have to pull the front bumper off???

Those are fog lights on a 99. I dont have them, but I doubt you have to remove the bumper.

There is an access panel behind the bumper that comes out.

Probably like replacing the horn on an NC. Pull back some sort of underpanel/undertray, and you'll have access to the bulb & wiring.

    Just a guess, of course...

Considering how effective they are , just leave it. I've had one not working for, hmm let's see, all 4 years I've owned the car.

Yeah it's gotta wait. I just flipped the switch so they are both off.

I just thought if it was an easy cheap replacement, I'd attempt it. But too much going on right now.

    Thanks!!!

Just to be sure, your headlights have to be on for the fog lights to work. Also, the headlights have to be on "low" beam, not high beam.
