I am willing to drive to a good shop / mechanic.

can anybody recommend somebody as close as possible

If he / she is good I'll drive as far as needed.

These guys may be a little closer than D/FW and are HIGHLY recommended as well. John Long was a master mechanic for Mazda for years.

Two issues besides the darn Airbag sensor flash code... I'm looking for a sensor.

Intermittent check engine... grd to pin 10 indicated O2 sensor I will replace with a generic Bosch this weekend and see.

The most important issue is a belt or pulley squeal. Actually looks like the pulley may be rubbing. Hope it's not the shaft or key / whatever and just maybe bad pulley or belt. I'm new to MX5's and don't trust my judgement so I need a qualified mechanic.

Local mazda said I did not have a 1.8 but they could fix it???? WTF???

A '91 would be a 1.6 originally, has the motor been changed?

Yes it has a rebuilt 1.8 in it. The previous owner did it. Sorry to say he has passed away
