Thread: My Garage Vary lip splitter

  1. #1

Default My Garage Vary lip splitter

I wanted to protect my GV Lip from unnecessary scrapes from my steep driveway and speed bumps. Since I haven't (yet) been able to talk Gary into making a splitter for the GV Lip, I made my own.

I used the same material as the Home Depot lip. I cut off the angle with my Dremel tool and just used the toothed section.

The purpose of this is not to create more down force but to just provide a barrier from scrapes.

Total cost is $11.42 to protect a $200 lip.

Looks nice, but you should use nylon bolts so they break instead of the lip where you have the hole for the bolts.

I'd normally agree with you as the Track Dog splitters use nylon hardware but my lip is so small it seems it would be difficult to snag it on anything.

    Yup.

As always, the car looks great! I think the only thing I would suggest is trying to find some black hardware for the splitter. The silver bolt heads and washers kind of disrupt the look.

I need to wax the NC and meet up with you for a photoshoot sometime. The twins need some pictures together.

Yeah... I'll switch out to nylon. The photoshoot sounds cool. Is there a black NB that would be worthy for a tri-fecta?

I'd also like to meet up with Wags and your old car.

the more damage my r-pack lip takes, the cooler it looks. Right now I have some red, blue, and white marks on it, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me.
