Thread: Getting rid of junk....?

    Default Getting rid of junk....?

Anybody have a suggestion of how to get rid of junk? As in... about 20 or so old fence panels and a bunch of posts, plus some other assorted pieces.

Everything came from a fence job *we* did in another city; the fee for taking it to the dump is $50, which I'd happily pay just to get rid of it since it's by the street (DO NOT ask). Unfortunately, I don't have a way to transport it and I'm sick of looking at it and waiting for *someone* else to take care of it.

Any suggestions? I thought about posting it on Craigslist but I doubt anybody would want anything but the posts. Where I used to live, we would just burn wood like this, but that's not exactly feasible here.

I'll buy lunch and tip somebody if they help me get rid of it, if that's an option... got a truck and lowboy?

Check with your city garbage folks. Ours in Lewisville will take it as long as it's in bundles that are no bigger than 3' in size.

I think that was the original plan, but the fence panels have already been cut once and they're still 4'X6'. I can call and find out, though...

    How old is the wood?
I might know someone that may be interested in using it.

Not sure of the exact age, but it's basically an entire fence that we replaced (good sized one). The wood is older and weathered, but not rotten (to my knowledge). What do they want to use it for?

Again.... Craigslist "Free" section. It's amazing what people will take. One man's junk...

Craigslist Free sounds like a great option to me.
