rx7gslse has an '04 on order, but it will already have a turbo.

Yes, but if you read the post you still have to buy the turbo and get your car to them. This is not a hard install and could probably be done in the same time as it would take to drive there and back.

I wonder how much insurance you'd save by getting the regular Miata and then putting in your own turbo?? That might be substantial over the course of several years.... Also it would be cool to have a Miata upgraded by the master!
