Default What to do with 24 chainsaw engines -

    Power a bike with them!

"When all 24 are combined, the result is a 24-cylinder power plant with a total displacement of 1.9 litres, a power output of 125 kW (170 PS) and 130 Nm of torque at the centrifugal clutches."

"The fully assembled bike measures 3,870 mm from front to back and is 590 mm wide. As the power plant is largely built from aluminium and magnesium, and consequently weighs a modest 188 kg despite its 24 cylinders, the overall weight of the Dolmette has been held down to a touch over 300 kg. This has resulted in a very favourable power-to-weight ratio of just 1.8 kg/PS."

Be sure to check out the videos...especially the "starting the engines".

More of their designs:"Red-Porsche-Killer" and the "Satte Liter Schüssel" (Full Litre Bike).

Last year they built the "Oldsmobile".

Makes me think about the practicality of putting an '04 Yamaha R1 powerplant at each corner of a Miata. Certainly some of the FWD parts from the rest of their line could be grafted on......

Total power would be ~600 at the wheels, and based on the car's power to weight ratio in comparison to the motorcycle, high 8 second quarters and top speeds of ~180 mph would be possible.

(Then you could shut off 3 of the motors, kick them into neutral, and buzz down the highway on a single 1000cc unit for ~30mpg.)

Some things just don't make sense, do they? (Even though I think the Miata idea is more viable than their moto-turd.)
