    Default Q Tires

Has anyone heard of "Q Tires"? My brother is being approached on a investment in this thing. Just want to do a little homework for him before he put down is $$$. I know you guys know more about tires than I know about medicines.

Below is copied from the stuff he sent me.

120 studs between or in the tread blocks of an otherwise All-Season tire
    Revolutionary and unique tire technology
Secondary chamber underneath tread expands to extend the studs
Releasing air pressure from secondary chamber retracts the studs
    RF Wireless technology controls deployment
Activated by the driver with remote control device…”the iQ”
    Visual and audible signaling

I can you the files if anyone of you interest like to look at it, especially you the engineers. I don't even play one so I have no idea if that make sense at all

I'd have to wonder why, if these were ready to roll out for winter of 07 that they would still be seeking investors a year and a half later?

August 1, 2008 - California's Gov. Schwarzenegger signs Assembly Bill 1971 into law. AB 1971 allows the use of deployable studded tires not only during the traditional studded tire period of November 1 to April 30 of each year, but now states that a vehicle may be equipped year-round with tires that have studs that retract pneumatically or mechanically when not in use, if the studs are retracted between May 1 and October 31 of each year.

This law will take effect January 1, 2009.
If it's good enough for the Terminator...

I've logged plenty of miles on ice and snow covered roads (sometimes both together) and I've never wished for some kind of retractable studded tire. Sounds crazy.
