I need to look into refinancing my condo now i have more "history". Got kinda screwed because I'd always bought everything cash up, cars included. Mortgage company didn't believe that my only debt was $10k in school loans.

They were talking on KRLD yesterday that the 4.5% would apply to new loans and not refinancing. Would be a bummer for you if they do it that way.

sxk: that's why I've always taken out the loans and paid them off early. When we bought the F150 I took the 8.99% financing just to get the extra $1000 cash back from Ford Motor Credit. We paid it off WAY before they could make even $100 back of their $1000.

I love using other people's money.

It's a little more involved than selling a car.

You'd better hope she does not find out what you called her on the boards. Or you may not need to refinance the house, because you may be in the dog house!

You can get close to that on a 15 year note through my credit union.

    Credit Union of Texas

We got 5% on our refi @ 15 years in May.

It was a nice and easy process... no jickey loan brokers to deal wth.
