Thread: Cell Phone Abuse!!!!

  1. #1

    Question Cell Phone Abuse!!!!

The reported her Motorola Razr works but no longer displays anything on the screen. That's fine we switched to a standby phone we keep in a secured location for just this type of emergency.

But now phone #2 has also given up the ghost and will not display but still works.....

Some History - back in the day she also had a phone that the display quit on that got us to buy the Razr..... So 3 Phones (all different brands) in about a year all have the same issue!

Is it possible that the SIM card could be causing this issue since it seems to be the only constant in these failures?

    TIA

Seems to me that the SIM card is not the only constant. ( )

I know they will do that after a cycle in the washer!

I repaired a Motorola Razr last week with the same issue.

Remove the back cover and battery. Remove the T6 torx screws (here is a cheap torx set from Harbor Freight), gently pry loose the bottom corners with a plastic tool. Unfold the back from phone (careful, there is a ribbon connection). Press the end of ribbon connected to the back of the phone to make sure it is secure. Reassemble.

    I found these instructions here.
    1990 White NA - SOLD
    1994 Black NA - SOLD
2006 Red NC - GT with limited slip, HIDs, all OEM.

One day I tried to "discipline" my phone with a few sharp raps against the steering wheel - thinking that might keep it from dropping yet another call. For some reason the display quit after that!
