Thread: Tires for mom

    Default Tires for mom

My mom's '99 base has some ratty steelies and one wheel cover...and I'm really tired of looking at that mess. I've sourced some appropriate OE wheels for her, but I'm a little lost as far as "normal" tires are concerned.

What would you suggest for some reasonably-priced, all-season, 15" tires that would work well for her and leave no worries about hydroplaning and the like? FWIW, she's in Houston, and I'm sure driving in that one day of snow every five years isn't high on her list of things to do.
'90 "LE" available for purchase soon

Assuming your mom's car would take a 205/50-15, I'd say you probably couldn't go wrong with my Tire Rack budget pick (the Kumho Ecsta AST)...

Cause on Mother's Day nothing says "I love you Mom" like a set of cheap tires and a 12 pack.

NTB has Buy 3 get 1 free with alignment on Yokohama AS430 and Avid TRZ's. If her car needs an alignment then not a bad deal on the TRZ's. The AS430's are great but don't seem to last as long as they are supposed to. Otherwise I second the Kumho's...in fact I have a set in 225 something in the garage.
