Thread: Need rear brake adjustment gear

Default Need rear brake adjustment gear

Okay, this is crazy, but it is the only way I can think this happened.

This morning, I accessed and adjusted the manual brake adjuster on both rear brakes. There was no problems with the procedure.

This afternoon, I adjusted my brake pedal and found that my rear brakes were dragging afterwards, so I went to adjust my rear brakes again. The little gear into which you put the allen wrench on the right rear was missing! It was there this morning and I had replaced the bolt that covers it. WTF?!?!?

My only guess is that when I removed the allen wrench this morning, I must have dragged the gear with it, but it must have fallen off the wrench and settled on a piece of suspension. I did not notice it, so I replaced the cover bolt and went driving around, only to find it missing this afternoon. It is not on my garage floor and I could not find it in my driveway. This is so crazy.

Anyway, does anyone have an extra one of these gears laying around maybe in an old caliper or something that I can either pick up or that you can just mail to me in standard envelope?

    Thanks.

If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.
