Good instructor, bad driver. He was trying to get the guy to downshift but the driver obviously had no clue. The instructor was shutting the car off almost before it came to a stop.

Must not have been the instructor’s car.

Either that or he knew they were highly insured.

Or it could also be he's crashed way, way too many times.

Having been the passenger in a car that rolled over, it's actually quite amazing how calm you can be. I remember telling the driver to "turn off the ignition" as well. Pretty interesting...

If he had no brakes, he should have been going down thru the gears for all the engine braking he could get, then grabbing the emergency brake. It looked as though he had no clue what he was doing. When he finally down-shifted and turned the wheel nothing happened, and it was too late. The first time I ever instructed, and drove, a Viper at TWS, I came into turn three like I would in a Miata, and was VERY surprised at the lack of braking I had. You would think that with that much tire and huge brakes that you could haul all that weight down in a hurry, but it didn't happen. This incident looked the same way....the only difference was that I got enough weight transfer to get it to turn.
