Thread: Tire trailer bearings

    Default Tire trailer bearings

The wheels on my tire trailer are growling and there is a lot of play in them, so I guess it's time to replace the bearings. I can get some cheapies from Harbor Freight, but does anyone have experience with better quality replacements?

    Any tricks to replacing them?

    I do!

I went with Timken Bearings p/n 30205M 9\KM1 and Timken Seals. I went to Bearings Inc. on 121 with the old Chinese crap bearings and they were able to cross them over to the Timkens. YMMV

Let me know if you need any help!

+1 for the Timkens. I got mine at O'Reillys. They were also able to cross reference off the ones that I took out. Don't forget to replace the inner seals also...

I'll check with the boss, but a 2/21 tech day at Onething Castle sounds good to me. Or would you referring to the Stately JRJ12 Manor? Either way sounds good to me.

Nope. I will do my trailer first, since it needs to get to Houston in early April. The NTAXS trailer only needs to get to Pennington in March.

If there is a for sure tech day, I might show up and act like I know what I'm doing.

I didn't say I was bringing my car to get worked on.
