Thumbs down I am officially done with Discount Tire

I just called DT to get a quote to mount and balance my tires. I told him the wheels were off the car, no tires on them and no disposal of old tires.

    The quote was - $93.20

    That's right...Ninety-Three dollars and Twenty-cents.

They will never get another dime from me.

I once knew a PhD that got upset with his wife for scheduling service calls with plumbers, electricians etc. as Doctor Henderson's wife rather than just Mrs. Henderson. No telling how much she cost that man.

You knew the price of the car when you bought it, now you are finding out some of the cost of owning the car.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Let's just get some screw drivers and lube and mount them ourselves.

Wow, that sounds kind of kinky now that I re-read it.

I knew the tires would cost more and they do. I didn't expect to get on getting them mounted and balanced. I found another tire store close by that will M&B for $50.

I believe most NTBs mount and balance for $12.50 each. I had them do the 18" tires for the Murano that I had ordered via tire rack.

Gee... what a shock... you ask a business whose primary concern is SELLING tires to mount some tires for you and they surcharge... Who woulda thunk it?
Maybe 4 wheels aren't so bad after all... wickett.org

Samm's experiance is not a one off, I had to get some tires mounted last year and they quoted me about the same. I even told them there were no tires to dipsose of and that I didn't need any valves. After they gave me the price, I told them where to stick it.

The previous manager would charge me $8.50 per regardless of where the tires came from. The new guy wants $23.20 per. FVCK THAT!

Yep... when you ask the monkeys at a Big Box store to do something that's not represented by a picture on the cash register, then their brains tend to short-circuit.
