Thread: Possible to rent a miata?

Default Possible to rent a miata?

I've seen that you can rent track cars in some locations, but can you rent an NA, NB, or NC in the DFW area just to drive around for the weekend? I'd like to spend more time with the car than a 10 minute test drive...

Hertz rents slushbox NCs at some of their locations.

Good point. It has to be a 5/6 speed...

How much is your budget? I am sure someone on this board would not mine to rent you his/her baby for a weekend for the right price!

Funny, I was just talking to a customer about this today. He told me Import Motorsports rented out race ready Miatas. Anyone know anything about that?

They have a handful of 300hp miats they rent out too. I usually rent one from there when I want to do a track day.

How much does it cost to rent one for a track day?

I doubt there is anywhere to rent a manual transmission Miata. American rentals are almost always automatics. I think the best you can do is to find that Hertz place the Titus is talking about, and rent a slushbox NC. You won't get the "full effect" of a manual transmission Miata, but many of the driving dynamics will be similar. And you'll get a good feel for how it is to "live with a Miata" (size/room, radio and climate controls, fit-n-finish, seat comfort, etc.).

IF you are really serious most dealers will let you take home a demo for the night. I've taken home three different cars. I did buy two of them.

You may want to ask them about it. IIRC most have about a 100 mile limit.
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...
