    Default 92 Miata High idle

I checked out my dad's new ride today and it seems to be in solid shape. It's a 92 with A/C, power windows and cruise. The A/C does not work and the idle speed does not change when the A/C is turned on. The idle speed was very high (1800 rpm) and even with the bleed air screwed all the way in it was 1200 rpm. I could not find an obvious vacumn leak. The brake pedal effort seems very high to me and I am wondering if the booster has an internal leak? Any other suggestions? The car runs great otherwise. Both radiator fans run anytime the key is on, so I guess somebody jumpered it. I'll tackle that when I get to the A/C.

Did you try to set the idle? Jump TEN/GND under the hood and then see if you can dial it down.

If that's not it then check for cracked vacuum hoses or a bad IAC valve.

Run a bottle of Techron first.
IAC is $300, Techron is $7
