Thread: A/C leak

    Default A/C leak

Well the A/C crapped out and I think I've found the leak. The question I have is if the compressor is going to have to be replaced or is it the hose and/or fitting going to the compressor. The fitting in question is the one for the hose that connects to the back part of the compressor if your looking at it from the front of the car. The little metal block looking thing that has the hose going into it and the bolt holding it to the compressor. It seems to be leaking from where it mates up to the compressor. Is that an o-ring or a compressor replacement?

Should be an o-ring, it was an o-ring on jrj512's '92 if we are talking about the same fitting.

Good description of that. It is an o-ring. That's where mine was leaking years ago. I tried to get one at all the parts stores and ended going through Mazda. With what I know now, I'd try Ace hardware store first.

Hey Sharpie do you know what size the o-ring is? Mazda up in Denton says they don't show it to be servicable.

Be brave take take the bolt out and see if there is an o ring between the block and compressor.

Sharpie I found one to fit. Now does anyone have a spare front a/c line that they are not using. I've got a hole in mine.

    Default Check here, too

Mine had a leak and we dropped it off here and walked across the street and ate lunch HERE!!!. Went back across the street and picked up the 'new' line for < $38!! Used the original ends and replaced the hose - even gave me a new o-ring!
