Default You've gotta be kidding me...

So I deposited some cash into my checking account Monday after work. I was online paying some bills tonight, and I noticed that my deposit still showed as pending.

Over 24 hours and a cash deposit hasn't cleared yet? I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

    What bank Altiain

    I'll one up you.

I deposited my $5000 christmas bonus check and $500 cash early january at chase. $5500 goes through after 2 days. Look a day later and all of it had been pulled back as pending. I call customer service. They don't know what has happened, barely speak engrish, and suggest I wait a few days. After 2-3 days more I get a letter saying they are holding the funds due to the size of the check. Took well over a week to be redeposited again.

My normall checking acount is with Bank of Texas. I've never had an issue like this with bonus checks before, and in fact cash deposits post IMMEDIATLY, and checks ALWAYS post that business night (Monday= Monday night, Saturday= Monday night)

The chase account was opened on a whim to take advantage of a sign up bonus. I'll probably be closing my account at the end of the term. 2 strikes for Chase, I had issues with their credit card service too.... I pay my acount on time, and normally in full. They raised my rate, lowered my limit and proceeded to mail me literature about opening an acount with them that was the same limit and rate as what i had had before...... GRRRRRRR!!!!!

I went crazy with this earler this week... I transfered money from my savings account into my checking account on Friday and it did not "Get there" until Monday. This was at the same bank and they were even open on Saturday! Next time I'm going to go down, make a withdrawal, and deposit it in my checking account How about that! I'll be faster than a computer by three days! If your wondering, it was Chase

Wells Fargo. They use stage coaches, hence the delay.

Any large check you should expect to be delayed. That was a bit much though. I think the last one I deposited took 3 business days to be cleared and in the account, I was suprised. I expected it to take longer.

For cash deposits, I always use a teller. It goes in immediately that way.

Now I could understand if I had deposited $10,000 in sequential bills or something, but this was $40. Two twenties.
