A long time ago, in a parking lot far, far away...

It is a period of civil war. NTAXS,
spaceships, striking from a hidden
base, have won their first victory
against the evil Galactic SCCA.

During the battle, Va-j-jay spies managed
to steal secret plans to the SCCA's
ultimate weapon, the PAX, an
armored space station with enough
power to destroy an entire V8.
Pursued by the SCCA's sinister agents,
Princess JRJ512 races home aboard her
white Miata, custodian of the stolen plans
that can save her people and restore
freedom to the galaxy....

Ok not Gym Wars but I was having fun.

I bet he's going to have a hangover when he wakes up.

It was funny though.

After the plans are secured, another of the Lightsiders, hero Chewbacca-o decides to bail on the Falcon and tries his hand at a Tie Fighter. Curses! It's too small! Chewy-o proceeds to try a B-Wing, but it's too slow! On to the X-Wing, only to find the X-Pax is a killer of Wookies....What will he do? Hey, that Death Star looks interesting...

Welcome Friends!!! Its time for Gymkhana racing in Texas!!!

For those that don't know, Gymkhana is the Japanese version of autocross, in which drifting is allowed and your main goal is efficient technical driving and car control, to allow you to navigate through the course in the quickest time possible.

Tech inspection starts at 9:00am, driver's meeting will start around 9:45am. Please be there early enough for this if you intend to drive.

Runs will continue throughout the day, probably until shortly before sunset, or until everyone is tired and no drivers wish to make any more runs for the day, whichever comes first.

All runs will be timed, but only your fastest run will count.

This course will be huge by gymkhana standards taking an avg of 2 minutes to complete.

The course will include auto barrel racing, reverse section, 180's, and a stop box.

There will be a tech inspection of each car before it is allowed to go on the track, which will include a quick lookover of the car and safety equipment (ie helmet, seat belts, ect.. )

The inspection will also include a J turn. We need to see that your cars suspension is up to the task of keeping you from rolling over so a quick 15 mph j turn will give us a chance to make sure everyone will be safe and have a fun day..

Tech will be strictly enforced to weed out high CG vehicles. Those vehicles that fail tech due to high CG will be allowed to run but will not be allowed to use the reverse section.

Prices for the event are as follows:

Drivers entrance fee - $40

Pit access (if you are not driving but are with a crew or want to hang out in the pits with the drivers) - $5

General spectators area - Free!!!

The top 3 finishers will recieve half price admission to the next Cloudfactory sponsored Mineral Wells event, and we aim to make these a regular thing.

The #1 finisher will recieve free admission to the next event.

The track will be located at Mineral Wells Airport.. In the back on the old tarmac...

Thanks and I hope to see you there!!!

course layout is here in these pics below

If this is in the wrong section please let me know and i will move it.. this should be fun.. I was at the first private event and it was my first time to be around a timed race.. by far the funnest event i have ever been too.. hope to see some of you guys out there.. i know maybe Forrest and Kyle from PTP will be coming

I have a course lay out and flyer with more info on it but it won't let me post them..

Thanks again!

Charging for "pit" access? Double that.

Well of course it's going to be the "funnest" if it's the first timed event you've ever attended...

If Mineral Wells was closer to my house I'd drive out there just to see how many cars they break. From the free spectator section, of course.

Because drifting isn't allowed in regular autocross? Ever seen Maderash make a run? Reversing? Barrel racing? $5 bucks to be in the pits? Sounds like the Barnum and Bailey JDM circus is in town.

Well I'm gonna be gone to Tennesse on leave or I would be there for sure.

They held a drifting event this past Sun (28th) and I went and watched that. Got lots of pics and it looks like a blast. I got a little too close to the track trying to get good pics and the guy who setup this event asked me to back up about 15 feet lol.

Lots of blown tires and what not. But I live out here so it's worth the trip.

LMAO not a bad idea. You just need to find a rear drive rental car. Like a V6 mustang or something. Good luck trying to find a manual one too. But I'm sure I Could make something work

So if you roll the car in tech I guess you dont pass. That seems worse than getting sent packing because of a loose battery.
