60th birthday surprise for an ex-autocrosser that some of you might remember: Morris Hoover - he left us for a job in Arkansas, then to another in Houston. Still has family so they're coming up to celebrate. He was a member at MSR until he left the area, so he will be here as my guest. What a wonderful excuse for ya'll to get a kitchen pass and come and join us? The more Miatas, the better! If you're not a member, find someone who is and offer to pay their session fees for the day($25)......

I remember Morris! He was the one who introduced me to the Outlaws... maybe not one of his better decisions.

9/26 is an Apex Day on the 1.7, so I might be there. Maybe I can sneak in a session on the 1.3 during lunch as someone's guest?

August 26th? Well thanks for telling us after the fact. I would have liked to seen Morris and Lois.

Nevermind. It looks like you mean September 26th. I may need to drive down there!

Apex has us on the 1.7 that day at MSR and members will be on the 1.3. We will see you there, or at least a few of here on the site.

Morris was one of the nicest guys I ever met at an autocross. I wondered what happened to him.

I won't be able to make it, but tell him I said HI & congratulations.

Hey Merv! I saw your car and Morris' red '99 parked under the covered paddock space, but never managed to catch up to you guys during the day. Hope y'all had fun!

Sorry to have missed Morris. I hope all is well for him and Lois. I remember when his 99' was brand new to them. How many miles does he have now.

188K miles on Cutie. We had a nice weekend. Went up to Lake Bridgeport on Sunday, where they had lived before moving to Arkansas, for a birthday party, a nice relaxing day sitting by the lake. They don't like Houston much, and would like to come back here, but Morris finally has a good paying job that he likes.
