    Default 2010 Brain Buckets

For those who may have missed it, in Appendix A of the most recent Fastrack there was an item noting an amendment to 4.3.1 of the SR covering helmets acceptable for Solo use in 2010.

It had previously been stated by the National Solo staff that because of publication of the M2010 standard, M95 helmets would not be acceptable for use in 2010. The new amendment changes that. Because discussion with the Snell Foundation confirmed both the M2010 and the M2005 standards would remain as "current standards" for 2010, M95 helmets will continue to be acceptable for use at all SCCA Solo events for 2010.

The new wording reads: "All helmets meeting the current or two preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2005, SA2000, SA95, M2010, M2005, M2000, M95, K2005, K98 ), SFI standards 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, or 41.2A, or British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are acceptable."
Just thought I'd repost from Tx Region SCCA for you kids who don't play there.

"If your helmet is M95 or newer, it's still good. Whether the head it is protecting is good is your problem, not ours."

I was going to replace my SA00 Simpson next year. I might hold on to it a couple more years now.
