Thread: Dyno Day January 16, 2010 @ ATS Racing!

    Default Good times

Nice seeing some regulars and meeting a few new faces. Big thanks to Mick for setting this up and Aaron for hosting
I'd post the printout, but my thumb drive only has an empty folder with my name Oh well stuff happens...prolly couldn't figure how to post it anyways.

First 2 runs were 204 and the 3rd was 208 according to Aaron in the driver's seat. The print out shows a bit lower on the 3rd run, cause there was a slight data break and shows a bit lower due to "smoothing" or something (per Aaron).

Suprisingly, each run went up a bit, they were rapid fire successive runs, and I understand from reading the interwebz that they usually go down a little from heatsoak of the IC, but I could be completely wrong as this was my first time even being the the presence of an actual dyno at work.

    Anyway, from the printout page...

    Run #1: 1:44:46pm, 204.6 hp & 174.2 tq
    Run #2: 1:45:4opm, 204.9 hp & 172.5 tq
    Run #3: 1:46:34pm, 206.9 hp & 176.5 tq

When I originally dropped off the car with Gary, my request/goal was a reliable, safe 200hp. Mission acomplished. Thanks Gary. Now I just need to learn how to drive it.

    Good times today, good times.

Why is that funny looking car on there backwards?

I missed a lot of fun. I did make it about 2pm and at about 8lbs of boost, I hit 159.6 and 133.8 torque. Time to do some tuning.

How did the rest of you do?

I had fun just watching today! Good times all around. Now I want a supercharger a little more... :)

From the pics, it looks like I showed up right after Trey's beast. AJ's RX-7 was the most entertaining, since it seemed like it wouldn't stop making power. I've never seen a dyno graph like that. It wasn't a torque "curve" as much as it was just a flat torque line - very cool! I think it pulled 172 whp at something like 12,000 RPM (possibly overestimated), and it sounded like a herd of very angry bees doing so.

Great pics! How many cars were done and at what time did you finish?

Not sure how many, there were a dozen or more in the lot hanging out when I got there. I believe I was last, or next to last and I was done by 1:30-2p.

It was a blast. Nice to see so many boosted cars out. Also nice to be back at ATS after...shoot...too many years.

I am glad I decided to log data via the eManage during my turn. My best run - a disappointing 200whp - showed about 10.5:1 A/F on the wideband through 95% of the pull. Looks like I have a little more fine-tuning to do.

EDIT: Turns out my tune is okay - as long as it's 50 degrees or less ambient air temp. Logged a few pulls just now in 50* weather and A/F is in the mid-high 11's all the way. Makes sense since the car was tuned at around 45* ambient air temp. I just need a spring weather re-tune :) According to the dyno log it was around 65* when my car was dynoed.

Thanks to ATS for doing this! I know dyno days can be a pain sometimes. Hopefully we were easy on you :)

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Go to http://www.dynojet.com/downloads/software.aspx and click the "Trying to View Your Run" tab. Download the WinPEP7 app. It will open your files and allow you to display whatever recorded parameters you wish.
