Thread: AS????

    Default AS????

    Did we really need AS in SCCA?
    5 National tours and only 5 cars, 3 tours had 0 AS drivers.
    M3 is always the answer.

    Seemed like a good idea at the time? ::shrug::

    I think it will end up being a successful class. There are several cool cars in there, and the price spectrum ranges from mild (ten-yeard old C5 Vettes) to semi-wild ('08 Cayman S, E92 M3, 40th Anniversary 996 911). If I were shopping for a new autocross car, an A Stock car would be high on my list... right behind something for STR, which I think is part of the problem.

    I will say I am a bit surprised that we haven't seen more cars show up yet.

    Isn't this the result of last year's Stock Class Shuffle? Too early to judge. Give it a year or so.

    Don't care.

    The 335i's auto is one of the better one's I've driven.

    I got the ultimatum this morning. The Evo is getting parted, potentially sold and if I want to track/autocross any more I have to get something cheaper to run. I knew it was coming, but I hoped it would be another year or so.

    Yep, a 335i oughta fill that bill.

    Ever heard of a Miata?

    No, saving up for the skirt so I can drive a chick car. I think I'm going to have to get hood scoops though.

    Lol.

    Sean, S2000s and RX-8s are pretty cheap, and they're a lot easier on the consumables (tires, brakes, clutches) than an Evo.

    S2000 = I don't fit. RX8 = I have NEVER liked them (sorry).

    I had the S2k conversation earlier this week and man I just don't dig on them. Plus a decent Miata is $4k and a decent S2k is $10k+.

    WOW! Sounds like we have another Miata pervert - I mean convert.

    Soon, we will have only Miata drivers on this forum!

    NC = no go.

    Has to be able to have a roll bar at the very least. A REAL roll bar.

    Call me when they're legal for NASA and SCCA racing.

    Honestly an NC is too expensive. I'm got a budget and I promise I'm going to stick to it (for this month at least).

    OK - http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda...30-10412P.html
    The standard bar is approved for all NASA HPDE's. The petty bar design is approved for NASA Time Trials and meets the requirements for SCCA Track trials.
