    Unhappy Got rear ended tonight.

On my way to pick up my son tonight I got in a wreck. An 18 year old kid stopped in the left lane of I30 because of a blowout. Not able to swap lanes due to traffic I came to a stop looking for a gap to get over a lane and around the car. Not in a good situation myself I check my rear view mirror looking for gap in traffic when I see a motorcycle locking his brakes up and plowing towards me. Well I got smacked in the left rear side, the motorcycle kept traveling and came to a stop wedged between the other car and the HOV rails. The motorcycle rider flipped off his bike and ended up between the HOV rail and the permanent rail. No one was seriously injured, the motorcycle rider (wearing a helmet) was transported by ambulance to the hospital to be checked out.

My car was unable to be driven off, the motorcycle hit hard enough to snap the control arm and take a chunk of the wheel off. Hopefully I'll talk to an adjuster tomorrow and find out how bad it really is. Don't have a way to upload photos at the moment, but it doesnt look pretty.

That sucks. Car can be fixed. You and your kiddo, not so easily. Glad no one was majorly hurt or killed.

Sorry about your car, but I'm glad you are OK.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I'm very thankful no one was seriously injured. Even happier I hadn't picked my son up yet.

For reference it was a Honda Valkryie GL1500 (big v6 bike)

As long as it isn't me...

So now we know what happens when a Valk bites a Miata... Interesting.

Despite missing a few pegs, the bike didn't look horrible...the handlebars did some tank slapping, and the sissy bar was bent. I'm sure there was more damage than what i could focus on though.

Glad you're okay Dallas. I think you may be pulling that bar out and putting it in your next miata. Sucks.

    Glad you came out alright.

Go to Mazdastuff.com to get a new wheel rim. They are cheaper than anywhere else I have seen for the 2005 Mazdaspeed rims.

Ouch. Glad no one was seriously hurt. Doesn't look like he did any permanent damage. If you need temporary rims I still have my ugly '04 stock 17's...
