Default DO IT IN THE DARK... the Night AX IS BACK!!!! SEPT 25th/26TH

Come on out and drive your car flat out.... IN THE DARK...?!?!?
The Lone Star Chapter Night Autocross/Autocross weekend is... SEPTEMBER 25TH/26TH AT MINERAL WELLS AIRPORT..

Do you feel like Autocross is nothing but " standing around " all day?
Do you feel like an autocross doesn't give you enough seat time?
Frustrated that you never really get to hang out and bench race with your buddies until the event is nearly over?

THE Lone Star Chapter Night autocross is the solution...

Limited to 40 attendees.... we split the groups into two.... and each group runs in the daytime for at least an hour.. This generally turns out to be nearly unlimited runs to familiarize yourself with the course.... not a paltry two or three runs....

Then.. at dusk.... we break for a COOKOUT.. and add in the glow sticks... As the sun sets we once again hit the course IN THE DARK. Once again.. at least an hour of runs for your group... then a chance to hang out with your new found friends and competitors and enjoy the a Texas Summer night while having a beverage....

    MEMBERS -$30
NON MEMBERS - $40 ( NOTE THAT THIS IS A CHANCE FROM PAST YEARS! )

Bring plenty of TIRE because you will need it!

Accommodations for those that wish to stay overnight...

    HOLIDAY INN MINERAL WELLS.
Ask for the Lone Star Chapter BMW rate (should be $75 per night).....

    6801 Highway 180 E
    Mineral Wells, TX 76067

    5:00 first car off - group 1 - 55 mins
    6:00 first car off- group 2 - 55 mins
    6:55 DINNER BREAK
The dinner break is a chance to enjoy the Texas
summer sunset, grill , supp, , and socialize
in a away that we just don't normally do at most
autocross events since everyone will be taking a
    break at the same time!

8:05 PM first car off - group 1 -55 mins
9:05 PM first car off -group 2 -55 mins
    10PM ??????

Last year.. most drivers had the best results by driving with headlights OFF and parking lights or foglights ON.
Registration for our September events is open until FRIDAY night!
Keep in mind that the NIGHT autocross is on Saturday..
The regular points paying event is on SUNDAY...
Normal times apply for the Sunday event..

This event is a lot of fun. It is very casual and the food is always great! It is pretty wild running with only your parking lights and using the glow sticks to guide you. You will be surprised how far ahead you can see those suckers. I have always gotten plenty of runs. In fact, I have never left this event wishing I had more runs. So, you certainly get your money's worth.

Man this is tempting, i've been wanting to get back into autocross...

Just how punishing would this be on a good set of Falken 912s?? I don't have any spare racing tires at the moment so i'd have to use my daily drivers.

Not to talk you out of it, but MW is pretty tough on street tires, if you want them to stay smooth and balanced. Of course, if you don't drive them too hard, you'll be fine; just have to give it up on the high-G turns.

Just don't lock up the brakes and you will be okay.

The glow sticks are here! The night autocross is tonight! Registration is open thru 1pm. With the rain this morning and early afternoon the committee will arrive at 3:30-4pm to set up the course... The rain looks to be passing and should be clear at that time and tonight should be simply partly cloudy and a beautiful perfect 78 degree day tomorrow!
