Took me about 45min from Valley Ranch with traffic.

Doesn't really matter as you won't go...I'm sure you will find some reason not to when the time comes

Buzz, wrong answer. I really did want to go Monday. But then I screwed up and invited my parents over for lunch on Monday. Once I realized what I'd done, I really couldn't uninvite them...

You could have just invited them out there...I took my father-in-law

No bruising, sore arms and legs. Ready for another one. I called about the league. If you are interested please call and let them know. The scoring will be based on your RPM. The more consistent you drive the higher your RPM. Races will involve driver against driver with RPM points for the reward.
    M3 is always the answer.

    Ken,

I'm definitely interested in the league, but can't commit for another couple of weeks at least (need time for Melissa's arm to heal). When is it starting? Any discount for multiple signups?

Thank you! Yes, that was me. Congrats on your win!

No bruising here, thankfully - just a touch of soreness in the arms (from hanging on to the steering wheel) and my back (dunno what's up with that). I used one of those foam inserts for each of my sessions - that probably helped a lot.

Regarding "The Pass" - LOL. Anyway, from my perspective after following Ken for four laps I could tell that even with a weight advantage I didn't have much acceleration advantage, if any. Most I could do was stay close. But I was able to study his line and discovered I could do the sharp left after the 300' back straight in a way that allowed me to get on the gas sooner and take a shorter path. After the kink to the right, while still under full acceleration (so before the actual corner obviously) I was able to get half a kart's overlap on the right side of his kart. He certainly didn't "have the corner" at that point. I then just did normal braking and turned to the apex and he turned into me and we collided. No last-minute, hail-mary, heroic, hopeless late braking.

    Example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pNmVc7EgQ8

Oh well, regardless it was all great fun. I definitely look forward to going back - but I'm not sure a 7pm league will work for me. Still 90+ degrees, and that's a long drive from Denton after work...

eesh. Do they sell body armor in the pro shop?

With bruises like that, I'd be whining like a little girl.

Yep. Rib protectors, shoes, gloves, suits, helmets, neck braces, all that jazz.
