Did you see the damage to the Washington Monument? It is closed indefinately until they determine the full extent of the problems.

The National Catherdral also had some damage to it.

Actually some pretty impressive damage caused by the quake. But buildings on the east coast aren't designed to be shook. And from what I can find the composition of the rock and what not on the east coast amplifies even moderate quakes.

I wasnt saying that I thought it was funny to :) I was just commenting on the damage. I bet the folks out west are talking a lot of crap about the guys on the east coast right now.

I spent the first 30+ years of my life in California... They are finding this whole thing hilarious.

Did any else see that the night before there was a 5.3 in southern Colorado. I think it may have made the local paper.

I was reading something that the way the geology differs between both coasts makes it feel and act different for the same magnitude quake.
