    Default My little project car

I never posted up a build thread on this forum, thought I might as well as their is a huge knowledge base here. 1999 Miata, 150k(+/-).

    When I got her.

Added some new wheels and tires.

Then added the Harddog roll bar and raceland coilovers. The coilovers are by far not the best, but they serve the purpose for the time being.

Raised it back up a little bit, I love the look of a slammed car, but the TX roads are not kind.

Then I found a hardtop on CL at the right price.

Got a front lip spoiler on it.

And the go fast bits. Moss motorsports headers, K&N intake, Livewire plugs and hawk brake pads. It still has a long ways to go, but I am pleased with it so far.

I like the looks of the NA better, but the NB felt better when I was test driving cars.

    Thanks.

I need some input from some of the other NB guys, I eventually want to upgrade the shocks into something more serious, does anyone have a budget friendly option that has worked well for them?

How do the shocks on the racelands feel ?

is it a more comfortable ride them oem shocks?

would you recommend them for someone wanted a little drop and still wanting a comfortable ride?, daily driver not track driven

The racelands actually don't feel bad. They are a little stiff, and thus suffer from a bit of bump steer under hard driving conditions (on the uneven tx roads). Honestly for the price I am well enough satisfied, however I have heard negative feedback about the longivity of them under hard driving conditions....I might even wait them out and see if the shocks give and how long it takes, but if there is another option without a comma in the pricetag I might be proactive. I guess with that said, I would probably recommend them as introductory suspension.

Did some updates, Ebay grill painted satin black, repaired my GV front lip, added stock side skirts, got the RB's on and last but certainly not least worked with MK2TMR2 on some slick stripes. Here are the photos:

Thanks, it's been a long journey and I'm going to take it even further, just a matter of time. Hoping to start building a new motor for it this winter.

I just saw your car in another thread, and would have never guessed it came from something so dull and lifeless looking. You have a great imagination to make that car look so good. I hate the concept of black on red, but you changed my tastes around and now wish my car was red so I could do some of the things you did!

    Great job.

You should scoop-up the H&R coilovers that are available for $100 for another day or so.

Looks awesome Surgeon. The stripes turned out great, I like the live version better than the photo shop.

Thanks man. I am not to keen on red Miatas, but I got this one at a great price so I am rolling with what I've got. White/Black/Silver are about the only colors that can be pulled off on red, and black is the most subtle.

Where can I find those? My racelands haven't been the same since I've offroaded them....

Thanks man, the one I sent you was the rough draft, MK2TMR2 did a great job adjusting it to the bodylines for a more natural fluid flow. We need to set up a Tilted kilt meet....

Small update, new Spec stg2 clutch kit and aluminum flywheel.

Almost to pretty to hide. I was really suprised at how much more responsive my car became.

Awesome! please, share with us how daily-able it is once you drive with it a couple days. I am pretty curious. The ClutchMaster Stg.1 on the(no longer really mine) Gen coupe was heavy and very non-linear in engagement, I've always wondered if other aftermarket clutchs are going to be similar.
