^ great timing. I have an old set that I was just about to list.

They're not pretty, and the plastic clips that hold the adjustment nut are cracked. They work just fine though. Never popped open on me and never came out of adjustment. I only swapped them out because I scored a like new set that went on with the new top a couple years ago.

Not sure the going rate on these, make me an offer I guess.

In the very unlikely case those fell though, you can have mine for like $10 ish, I am removing the soft top completely soon.

    thanks for all the replies

after talking to Mazda Nissan ($60+tax a pair) and looking up new on MazdaSpeed ($230ish with shipping/tax), I found a how-to-fix write up and did that in about 45 minutes for free

involves taking the catch off and drilling a hole and screwing in a pan head screw that becomes the new point of contact

definitely now will never pop loose

I have one that won't stay latched... would you share the how-to article?

    thanks Sammm

    that's it

I pawed through my junk misc screw box and found two pan head metal screws (effectively self tapping into that soft aluminum, so no tap needed to get a certain thread type for a machine screw) that were 1/4" and the latches work great now

going to do it on the other two tomorrow

Sounds like an easier solution than locating the correct tap. Thanks again.
