Thread: 10ae seat inserts, are they 'really' suede??

Default 10ae seat inserts, are they 'really' suede??

I need to clean my seats - everything I've seen has "not for use on suede". Are the inserts really suede and 'suede fragil'? There's really no inconspicuous place to test...was hoping someone here has some experience with cleaning these seats and what works best. I have some dry cleaning fluid from the furniture store for microsuede....thought about trying that, but not sure it will do the trick. Also - after I eventually get them cleaned, do you think it's okay to use a stain blocker (Scotchguard) on them? I figured since they are in a convertible and subject to weather, that they should be somewhat more durable than suede...any suggestions are appreciated!
