    Default FS: 1999 Miata

1999 Miata, "fully loaded" with Torsen LSD, leather, power windows, doors, and aftermarket alarm (pics below). Passenger window works great, Driver's window could use a cleaning but works fine. AC blows strong and cold yada yada yada. I do add a bit of oil every couple of months. The car is just over 160k miles, but the engine was rebuilt by John Day ~37,000 miles ago. During the rebuild a lot of other parts were replaced as well (see below). Car runs strong: Enhanced Megasquirt 2 built by Reverant (user on Miataturbo.net), 131 whp & 115 wtrq on a Mustang Dyno (I'm told this equates to ~145 whp & 127 wtrq on a Dynojet fwiw, all I know is throttle response is crisp and the car pulls harder than before). I've had the car since August of 2010. I've taken the car to the track four times, the rest of the time it was my daily driver until April 2012 (finally got a car with a back seat to be my daily).

During the rebuild, the following work was done:
    Rebuilt engine (new parts):
    rings
    bearings
    timing belt guide bearings
    all belts, gaskets, and hoses
    exhaust valve guides

    Rebuilt engine (machine work):
    balanced reciprocating and rotating assembly
    resurfaced flywheel
    valve job

Replaced when the engine was rebuilt:
    Hondata intake gasket
    engine mounts
    O2 sensors
    cam sensor
    coil pack
    fuel pump
    rear wheel bearings
    Exedy Organic clutch
    rear diff bushings (Mazdaspeed)
    fuel filter
    injectors cleaned

    Fluids:
    brake fluid – RBF 600
    oil – Mobile 1 5w30
    transmission - Motul
    rear end - Red Line

    Additional Upgrades:
TR Motorsport 15x7 with 195/50/15 Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 (installed on 9/28/12, less than 1k miles on them)
Xida Clubsports with 550/350 springs + helper springs w/ NB Top Hats ($2160 coilovers)
Enhanced Megasquirt 2 with MAP sensor built by Reverant, (includes tuning cable)
    GM IAT Sensor
    MTX-L wideband
RB 4-1 Header w/ TDR heat shield
    Roadster Sport Catted Midpipe
Roadster Sport 3 Muffler (Includes removable sound baffle)
Koyo 37mm Radiator (installed June 2012) with New overflow tank (2 years old)
Hawk DTC-30 pads front and rear (Installed by TDR January 2013)
Stainless steel brake lines (Installed by TDR January 2013)
New Brake Master Cylinder (Installed by TDR January 2013)
Hard Dog Double Diagonal Sport Roll bar & Hard Dog Harness Bar (5 point harness mounts included, belts not included)
Kenwood cd player with iPod hookup running the Bose Amp/speakers (stock unit died).
Foamectomied both seats (also have an extra cushion that is gutted for a bit more headroom at the track)

The car as is with the MegaSquirt, WB, and GM IAT is $8,500
Without the MegaSquirt, WB, and GM IAT is $7900

FWIW, the original owner of this car is a good friend of mine, and I can vouch that this car has been extremely well maintained since new. Or at least until Moonie bought it.

What's the reason for the sale?

Emerald Mica (green). Same color as my old Miata.

Yes, Emerald Mica. The decision to sell is a difficult one. I love the car and I'm not dying to sell it. I've gotten it in my head that I'd like to try tracking something else. I'd like a bit more power but I don't really want to go the FI route in the miata. Starting a new project just sounds like fun at the moment.

Feedback on price? $8500/$7900 probably high? $7900/$7300 better?

It has $1800 worth of dampers and springs alone. I just sold a set of inferior ASTs for $1500 with springs and had to work to get them sold. The going used-price for an EMS2 is between $550 and $700, plus the owner doesn't have to pay $600 in tuning. Keep that in mind with the price.

The shocks were more than that :) They were $2160 (helpers were an additional $260) plus shipping. Worth every penny too.
