Thread: Seen at the Hot Rod Power Tour

Default Seen at the Hot Rod Power Tour

With cars as far as the eye can see, the Power Tour had plenty to look at and take pictures of. Instead of the ubiquitous Camaros, Mustangs and Chevelles, I focused on the more unique and unusual cars present. If you have pics of your own, feel free to add them.

Yes, Virginia, that's an NA victim of an Arkansan owner with too much time on his hands.

It doesn't get any better from this angle.

I'm sorry, i'll say it. That Pacer is Awesome! For some reason i've always had a soft spot for those hideous cars.

Actually owned a Gremlin that never ran and got rid of it before it became a money pit. Test drove a running one(73) in highschool, was a fun drive compared to my brother's Dodge Dart, I remember steering being sharp & zippy compared to the same year dart. (yes I know i'm comparing turds here)

I took Driver's Ed in a Pacer back in the day...I thought it was the coolest car ever! No matter how hard I tried, that thing would not do a donut in the snow. (This was up in Ohio in the dead of winter)

You were really a cool dude if you drove a Starksy & Hutch car in the early 70s. Then the big Firebird Trans Ams came out later in the mid 70s.

The problem with custom body kits is it makes the wheels look pushed in. I know the car would still be hideous but it wouldn't look as silly. Reminds me of the Chinese guy that built himself a Lamborghini.

Really? I always flip through the old car books at Half Price Books. There are lots of cars, lots of folks never heard of before. Henry J, Avanti, LaSalle, REO, DeSoto

+1 on the Pacer looking kick-ass! Always thought they looked cool even though they were crap cars. Hell, I thought the AMC Eagle wagon my folks had was kick ass - the original AWD crossover wagon.

The Kaiser Darrin is rare and interesting, but quite unattractive - especially from the front. Never liked 'em...

The AMC Eagle wagon was ahead of its time. Most crossovers/SUVs are just station wagons!

BTW, I would take a Pacer (or an Eagle) with a tweaked Jeep 4.0 HO swap... should bolt right in!
