Thread: Cooper Cobra Radial GT??

  1. #1

    Default Cooper Cobra Radial GT??

Went out to go grab some lunch and the Ranger is sitting on a rim (again). Tires on it were spent when I got it and they just don't seem to be getting any better .

Anyone have any experience with Cooper Cobra Radials?

That truck is sounding like more and more of a winner every day. :)

I know of a really nice Chevy Silverado for sale cheap...once owned by a local autocross celebrity (Davidss)!!

I think you were looking for raised white letters. Go with Kelly Super Chargers.

Yea but I like my little Ranger

Ranger has been fine I fix it as it breaks and it hasn't been needy. The Tire were shot when I got it back in March and I've put about 12,000 miles on them since. I can actually see the air in the rear tires.

Should have gotten it tires long ago but I am terribly cheap!

There is a tire shop in East Dallas that will sell you a used, matched (mostly) set of tires, installed for $80. caveat emptor

I'm kinda surprised none of the TCB guys haven't picked up 4 donut spares for $10/pop rim-and-tire! I'll bet they'd be all over it if you told them the lower rolling resistance would save gas too.

My one experiment with Coopers on my 3/4 ton Dodge diesel didn't end terribly well... had both rear tires delaminate after half the mileage of the Michelin's... YMMV

Well I went ahead and had the Coopers put on this afternoon.

Drives so much nicer than it did and with the cheap price, deferred payment crap, and rebates I still feel good about my TCB status.

I also had issues with cooper..
Took moms van to NTB for a balance, and they tell me the front end is worn out at 70k.
I go home to check it out, and find one of the fairly new cooper tires is out of round.
I went to cooper and they gave me the finger.
Needless to say NTB and cooper tires are not on my list of choices.

We put Cobras on Rangers all the time at Discount. I don't think we ever sold something on a Ranger that wasn't a Cobra the entire time I worked there actually (I noticed weird crap like that). As far as I'm aware, we never had anyone bring them back.

Ahh, Cooper Tires. I remember a time in Pearsall when..........
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.
