Default New to Miatas- '04 MSM

Hi everyone. I recently picked up a red '04 Mazdaspeed, which is my first Miata. It's been a blast so far. I actually made it out to the LSC BMW autocross at Mineral Wells last Saturday and had a great time. It was a dangerous choice, though, because I'm already planning some upgrades. Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself.

One question is do have is what do you guys do as far as aligning wheels? I'd like to make sure they're aligned right, and possibly go to the Flyin' Miata alignment specs, but it looks like Firestone will only do the manufacturer specs. Do you align them yourselves, or is there somewhere you would recommend that won't cost too much?

Welcome aboard. As far as alignment places, folks on the West side (Ft. Worth, etc) like Texas Track Works.

Unless you have some experience with alignments, its best to pay for a pro. Texas Track Works for Ft Worth and Cobb Tuning for Dallas are two excellent choices. A one-time alignment is typically in the $80-$120 range, but should last for a year or more unless you are making changes to the car. In that case, consider an alignment package that allows multiple adjustments. TTT has one.

For alignment I've used Fifth Gear in Lewisville. If you're near Plano, call Terry at Vorshlag, I think he does alignments.

Gave Vorshlag a call, and they said they didn't have the machine for the alignments. I'm probably going to go give Cobb Tuning a shot. They're pretty close, and the price seems alright.

Welcome, have fun with your Miata. I hope to meet you at an autocross soon.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

And you! I'll be at the Equipe Rapide event on the 26th/27th. Looking forward to meeting some other Miata enthusiasts.

Welcome! Huh, I forgot Cobb did alignments. I just got Prothane bushings in the mail, so that little tidbit will save me a 100 mile round trip...

Just got the car back from Track Dog Racing. Had some fluids replaced, new shifter boots, and stainless steel brake lines. Car feels great, and I had a good time chatting with William. More than ready for the mirrorcross next weekend!
