Default Run in with a Legend

While taking delivery of my car today I got a chance to come face to face with a legend of a sports car. I took a few pics...enjoy!

Pretty crazy, this car is worth more than probably every car on this forum put together.

The 959 is gorgeous, but the GT3 would get the nod between the two if I was choosing. Can't wait to chase one on the track. Played with a GT3 and Cayman RS out around New Hope a month or so ago. They mistakenly thought they could out horsepower me...after they parked nearly every corner. Sad so few owners can drive them.

Yep most are rich old guys that can't drive. There are some really fast guys though. I was running 2:30 at COTA this past weekend in a fast M3 on slicks and a 997.2 RS still blew my doors off. Guessing mine will run 1:56-1:57ish at ECR and 2:27 at COTA.

These were younger guys. I've ridden with an instructor in a GT3 at ECR... older guy...he could definitely drive. Between the sounds the car was making and his skills, I was gay for a split second. ...might explain the Miata purchase. ...anyway... gorgeous cars. I've never seen a 959 in person much less sit in one. Jealous.

My best time at ECR is 2:08. That was on a ZX-10R. I know I'm not fast, but 56-57 is getting it done.

You need to run sub 1:57. My 10 year old M3 can do that.
    M3 is always the answer.

    So, doesn't an E46 M3 + $50k still add up to less than a new GT3?

Yes but I didn't buy a new GT3. And my car will still be worth what I paid or more where mods are worth 1/2 or less of the original value. 20K M3 + 50K worth of mods you're lucky to get 25K back on equals 40-45K return on a 70K initial outlay when you're done. The depreciation is more than two of your minis or 10 of your NA miatas. I'm not ken o rich, I can't swing that.
