Jim was one of the first guys I met on the autox scene. Always enjoyed walking the course with him and sharing stories. Rest in peace.

It was always fun rolling up to the starting line and seeing Jim. I enjoyed how he would just point forward (sometimes with a cigarette in between his fingers) and that was your signal to go. RIP Jim.

This really hurts. Jim was as nice a guy to me as anyone I've met, and was damn funny too. I've missed having him on the scene locally, but I knew he was enjoying Florida. Definitely one of the good ones, and was always himself. RIP

He was one of my favorite people out there. Sad to hear this news.

A couple of years ago I was co-driving a fellow racers EVO. Those cars have like 3 different computers in them controlling everything. In an attempt to make sure I didn't beat the owner in his own car. The owner failed to set any of the computers for me to the proper racing modes. I pulled up to Mr. Harris at the starting line and told him of my dilemma. Since he was driving an EVO at the time he dove in the car window with his cigarette and set all the computers for me. Nicest guy you could ever meet. Glad I had a chance to hang out with him for at least one season.

    RIP Mr. Harris!

Very sad news. Jim was always upbeat and friendly to everyone he met. I have missed seeing him at autocrosses last year. One of the truly good guys, I will miss him.

It just seems like yesterday he was teaching me the "right" way to be the starter. Apparently, I was doing it wrong. He will be missed.

Rip Jim. I always remember him in his Evo hauling a$$ at the autocross.

Jim was an interesting man. He was always one of the first to say hello at the autocross events. Helpful to the new drivers and ready to take them for a ride in his car of the week. We kid him about having a new car each season but he did have some favorites. The first car I remember him driving was an early 90's model Supra. Think he liked that one but it was a heavy car for the class and the transmission failed. Toyota flew in a replacement and fixed it for free.

I won't try to recall all the cars and the stories as that would cover over 20 years of autocrossing. He did like taking Evolution Driving Schools. He would take one or more every time they came to town for years.

The last emails I got back from him said he was involved with boating and fishing and enjoyed it. I did not ask him how many boats he had bought :)

A couple of pictures of cars he had. I really thought I had some older pictures but they must have been on other computers.

The C5 was his first one I think. He later got a blue one which I think he liked a lot.

A few years back he picked up an RX8. He had so many cars we forget some of them.

Will miss you my old friend...
