Default Yea that's not good either.....

My sister called me at lunch today and said here Xterra was making a squealing noise and she was scared to drive it. I told her once I got back from Frisco I'd come over and take a look at it.....

Should be interesting considering her "tight budget".

Yea it will be interesting to see how that works , I put in just under $200.00 in parts, my labor on this one was free.....

I just dropped it back at her place. The pad actually came out of the caliper, and the piston in the caliper was riding on the rotor. Well actually all that was left was the backing plate, I'm still amazed the caliper was still functioning.

    Holy crap that's not good!

At least the whole damn caliper didn't fall off. Strange coincidences that both my parents’ Pontiac and my friend’s Pontiac both had a brake caliper fall off within a month of each other.

Any explaination on how a brake pad can come out like that? On the Miata and GM cars I've worked on, the brake pads are pretty secured unless you unbolt the caliper.

No clue the drivers side front wheel would not turn at all when I got over to her house since the brake pad had come out of the caliper. Had to fix that problem before I could even get it to my house.

Jesus. I think it's time to pack your sister up and ship her off to a city with a good public transportation system. No more cars for her.

I hope she got a stern lecture along with the free labor.

Time for some free labor from her! If she has to work for it then maybe she'll be more careful...
