I love those cars. Got any pics?
I took a road trip and got my 1970 Karmann Ghia out of my buddies barn in Lubbock. It has been sitting there since my relocation to Dallas. Anyway, slapped a new battery on, got some starter fluid and she fired right up. I borrowed a suburban and rented a uhaul auto transport and towed her home. I have a build motor and transaxle that I picked up out of storage, but I am gonna let them sit until it cools off some.....

Oh I need to talk to you about that, been thinking about getting the antique plates for the 'lac now that she is 38 years old! Do you just fill out a form or are there other requirements?Originally Posted by Kags1969
Its pretty much fill out a form. Do a google search for TXDOT and Antique and you should be able to get the form, you have to go to a tax office and get the plate (single plate...). The cost is like 50.30 for 5 years and they prorate it out. I think this one goes until 3/2008. I am pretty sure - no annual inspections either....

Thanks Kags1969 that's what I need! Do you still have to do a safety inspection every year?
My bus was a classic and still had to undergo safety inspection.Originally Posted by POS Racing
That POS was a classic, ya Hippie??Originally Posted by Treibenschnell
From the link Kags gave there is a big difference between a "Classic" and an "Antique". A "Classic" looks like you just pay the standard registration plus an extra $15.00 for the "Classic" plate, where and "Antique" is a 5-year (pro rated) deal.
Hey Kags1969 you are correct sir, more good news!Originally Posted by Kags1969
