Thread: Ruststang Brakes

    Default Ruststang Brakes

My wife's 01 Rustang needed new brakes. Since we will be selling the car in the next 6 months, I figured I'd just throw some pads on. The rotors looked to be in good shape.

Now the right front wheel will start to make a scuff-scuff-scuff sound.

Can I turn the rotors to resolve this? Will I need to bed in the brakes again after this?
    ...and across the line.

If anyone cares, (doubt it due to this thread's overwhelming response)

I pulled the rotors and had them turned.
The nice guy at O'Reilly turned them for free. :afro: When I went to pick them up, he asked me if I paid. I said I didn't and he said, don't worry about it and he normally didn't charge to turn rotors.

As I was reassembling it, I noticed the rotor was rubbing the splash shield. (Doh!)

Bent it back, scuffed the pads up a bit and bedded in the brakes again. Problem solved. I think the problem was that damnable splash shield Glad I didn't pay to turn the rotors.
