Thread: Just had 4 wheel alignment done

Default Just had 4 wheel alignment done

I took out a curb a while back, and every since my stearing wheel has been cocked to the right when the car is tracking strait. So I took it in to get an alignment to fix this problem and have it done to my spec's. Once it was done I drove off, but returned because the stearing wheel is now cocked to the right even more than before . Firestone's reply was that it was "my specs" therefore there was nothing they could do. They told me to take my stearing wheel off and do the adjustment there.

    What do ya'll think.

Just be sure you didn't bend anything... That would make it off too... But you'd think the meatheads doing the alignment would've caught that.

If you aren't going to sit in the car, make sure they center the steering wheel before they start the alignment.

Uhhh... that "My Specs" thing is apparently the loophole they can/will use to get out of doing what you want. Apparently they offer their lifetime warrenty only on their own (supposedly factory) specs, and if you ask for anything different, they can say "no".

I have one of those Lifetime alignments, and I've nver had a problem getting the alignment done to my specifications, but other on this board have had a lot of problem finding a place that would do our more aggressive specs.

    YMMV...
