    Default Leaky Six Speed

Have been noticing a couple of drops on the garage floor coming out of our '02. Looked to be leaking just at the tail shaft of the transmission. So before Vivid took the car to Houston last weekend I thought I'd give it a look and top it off since I had it up in the air to change the oil.

I had assumed it was leaking out of the rear seal but it appears to be higher up at the shifter. Has anyone else come across this leak on a six speed??

Check your shift boots. They may be cracked.

    POS,

On the 6 speed, the shift turret housing is bolted to the top of the tail on the transmission. Check the four bolts to see if they are loose. There's a gasket between the turret housing & the transmission.

Y601-17-107 is the part number on that.
