    Default Houston GP

I am looking forward to this already. Anyone else want to go? As it gets closer we can move this to an event section. http://grandprixofhouston.com/index.html

I would love to go. Any idea what the tickets will cost? Any other races in conjunction?

ALMS and some other support series are going. I am guessing tickets would be in the $50 for sunday range. Maybe $80 for the whole weekend. More agian for pit passes.

You've been before, Majik, how much can you see at one time? Is there going to be a problem with creative viewing?

I was at the first Dallas GP in Fair Park and the one in Addison. Not complaining, but I ended up walking all day to get different views. I saw folks with stadium seats mounted atop 6 ft step ladders ( Let me save you some time Not a good idea for me). The best view I had all day was through a chainlink fence gate that was not an official viewing area.

I have never been to a street race. The reason I mentioned all weekend tickets is because it gives you plenty of time to walk around and catch the cars from different vantage points. On sunday you can sit in one place, the main difference between the mid 80s f1 race and now is that they have huge TVs all over the place so you can keep up with the action. The track looks pretty short, so that is good news. We would see the cars more during the race.

I'm interested, but my friends and I go to South Padre every May as well. Might conflict in the $$ area.

I doubt it, as http://www.mazdamotorsports.com still has "NOTE TO RACERS. Until the details of the sealed engine are finalized, and to avoid higher expenses, we are encouraging racers to hold off on purchasing a their new MX-5s. We will post more information soon." on the homepage.
